Google Ads app campaigns: attribution and ROAS in Traqio
Straight answer first: Traqio does not connect to Google Ads today. Our spend connectors are Meta and TikTok, so we cannot compute return on Google App campaign spend. Our Android attribution is genuinely deterministic — but it runs on Traqio tracking links, and Google App campaigns do not let you set one.
Deterministic Android attribution is real
The Play Install Referrer carries our click id through the install, so click→install matching is exact — no IDFA, no fingerprinting. It works for any channel where you can place a Traqio tracking link.
Google App campaigns are the exception
An App campaign cannot point at a third-party click tracker unless you are a certified Google App Attribution Partner. We are not one yet, and we do not parse gclid — so Google-driven installs arrive without a campaign attached.
What is missing for ROAS
Two things, neither of which is in the codebase today: partner certification so Google hands us the install referrer data, and the Google Ads API for daily campaign spend. Without spend there is no denominator, and without a denominator there is no ROAS.
FAQ
- Can I measure Google Ads ROAS in Traqio today?
- No. There is no Google Ads spend connector, so the ratio has no denominator. Meta and TikTok are the two networks wired end to end.
- Does deterministic Android attribution work at all, then?
- Yes — for any traffic you can route through a Traqio tracking link. The limitation is specific to Google App campaigns, which do not accept third-party click trackers from non-certified partners.
- What about Google’s iOS campaigns?
- Same answer. We ingest and decode SKAN postbacks, but we only map Meta’s and TikTok’s ad-network ids — Google postbacks are recorded as “other”.
